The present church building was completed in 1986 and by the mid 2010’s was heir to the inevitable ravages of time, wind and weather.

In 2019 a comprehensive engineering study was undertaken to assess the best and most cost efficient manner to replace the roof. With the results of this study and in consultation with parish and diocesan representatives a plan was developed to replace the original copper sloped roof with steel and to refurbish the flat roof.

Plans were accelerated in January 2020 when part of the existing roof was blown off during a ferocious winter storm. Through fundraising efforts and the assistance of the diocese financing was arranged to allow the implementation of the roof replacement plan. This was completed in early 2021.

The roof replacement has yielded a result that is both aesthetically pleasing and water tight.

Many parishioners are working hard and have made personal long term commitments to pay off the loan that was incurred to finance the replacement. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
